How to get to the Zoo of the Pyrenees

Access to the Zoo of the Pyrenees

The park is located at the end of a road and has a large parking lot where you can park and turn around buses with up to 65 seats.

However, we have to mention that the last stretch of 5 km runs along a narrower and twisty road (Ctra. L-401). If the bus driver is coming for the first time, we recommend that he/she contact us beforehand to give him/her all the necessary information.

If you don’t have a regular bus agency we will be happy to recommend you the agency with which we usually work.

Facilities

Terrace

The students can have lunch comfortably on the terrace of the bar of the Zoo of the Pyrenees. There are tables with benches, and next to them are the toilets. Teachers and students’ companions are invited to a coffee or tea. With this small gift we want to show our gratitude to the teachers for choosing our activity as a destination for the school trip.

Toilets

The Zoo of the Pyrenees has 2 hygienic areas with a total of 7 toilets. One toilet is adapted for disabled people.

Picnic area

The recreation time is often an important part for the children during the school trip. We have a large and quiet place in the woods with tables and benches. Students can eat and rest or play in a natural environment away from the animal facilities.

Teachers appreciate this space. While during the activities we ask them to follow the rules, the recreation time gives the students the opportunity to burn their energy. 😉

Souvenir shop

At the souvenir shop you can buy souveniers with a value between 2€ and 15€. The profits from the shop go directly to the emergency fund of the Zoo of the Pyrenees. They cover the expenses related to the rescue of wild animals.

Route paths

The paths along the route are made of earth and despite our best efforts at the moment they are not 100% recommendable for visitors with reduced mobility. At the moment we are working intensively to be able to equip the whole route with a to equip the whole route with a concrete ramp.

However, there is the option of arriving by car to the places where the activities take place and taking physically disabled visitors directly there.

General rules of the Zoo

Visiting the Zoo of the Pyrenees allows the students
not only to get to know the fauna of our country from close up,
but also to observe the real wild animals in their natural habitat.
Sharing space with endangered species
is a profound experience that sensitizes students.

It also helps to open the students’ eyes
to appreciate the immense natural value of our country.
Unfortunately, until today it is known worldwide for its beaches.
