The animal population in Catalonia has decreased by 25% in the last 18 years! At the animal show at the Zoo of the Pyrenees the students will meet animals in danger of extinction and receive information about their protection.
The show lasts 1 hour and we recommend it for all ages.
It is the star activity of our park for school trips. It stands out with the variety of animals that participate in it and excels with the visitors’ interventions when they interact directly with the animals. The teachers emphasize the appropriateness of the explanations always adapted to the level of the students who take part in this activity.
What species will the students meet during the animal show?
A wide variety of protected species of Spain participate in the birds of prey show. Students can observe flying birds of prey, feed a raven and pet mammals. They will get to know the footprints of emblematic predators such as the fox, the ferret and the genet. They will interact with nocturnal raptors.
Therefore, the animal show at the Zoo of the Pyrenees provides a perfect opportunity for students to meet native animals.

Curiosities about the show with animals at the Zoo of the Pyrenees
The Zoo of the Pyrenees is located in a privileged natural environment. It is protected at European level for the great biodiversity of fauna and flora that lives there. Therefore, it is not surprising that the birds of prey show is sometimes interrupted by wild vultures and eagles that fly over the area.
Among these wild visitors we can highlight the presence of the golden eagle, the bearded vulture, the peregrine falcon or the black vulture. All these protected species represent the great natural wealth of Catalonia and the high level of environmental protection in our country, since in many other countries they are extinct.
