Training cycles

Workshop for vocational education

The most important aspect of the training courses is the practical part that accompanies the training. Consequently, it is often the key requirement for students to make the decision to enroll in the courses.

The activities of the Zoo of the Pyrenees Foundation oriented to formative cycles contribute just this practical facet and are expressly developed for the cycles where the professional outing is developed directly to the Natural Environment. Without a doubt they should be part of the educational offer of your center.

It can be done in two modalities:
School excursions / Workshops with wildlife at school

In addition, the Zoo of the Pyrenees offers training internships (VET) for students.

The workshops support the training of the general competence of control and protection of the natural environment. In fact, without knowing how to correctly identify the species of native fauna it would only be a subject on paper with no importance in the real life of the students. Likewise, the workshops train participants in environmental conservation and improvement, since, among other things, they include explanations and real examples of environmental protection in accordance with current legislation.

Visit to the Zoo of the Pyrenees for Training cycles

The visit to a wildlife refuge is undoubtedly an essential tool for the environmental education of young people. The Zoo of the Pyrenees is a 21st century zoo that responds to the sensitization of the population towards the protection of animals. Getting to know this space, participating in the activities oriented to the public and later having a talk with the founders provides an outstanding experience for the students. It is also worth mentioning that the Zoo of the Pyrenees is located in the area of the PEIN and the Natura 2000 Network. Consequently, the visit to the zoo brings an added value for the students, since it will illustrate the reality of life in protected areas.

Workshops at the educational center for training cycles

An activity at the educational center certainly cannot substitute the authentic experience of the visit to the Zoo of the Pyrenees. However, if your school is far away and the trip to the refuge is not affordable, the educational team of our foundation can come to visit you. In this case, we recommend combining the 2-hour Native Fauna Workshop with the Conference with founders of the Zoo of the Pyrenees and/or with the Round Table.

In this way the students will have the opportunity to know and learn to identify the species of wild animals of our country. Moreover, with real examples they will understand the harsh reality of wildlife. Additionally, the lecture will allow them to see the ups and downs of a private initiative that fights for the protection of the environment.

We are very committed to the Round Table as a modern educational methodology, which prepares students for real life, where dialogue is an essential tool to carry out the protection of the Natural Environment in an effective way.

For which training courses do we recommend the workshops?

The educational offer of the Zoo of the Pyrenees is explicitly developed for the professional training of:

  • Guide in the Natural Environment and Leisure Time
  • Natural Environment Appropriation and Conservation

  • Forestry and Natural Environment Management
  • Landscaping and Rural Environment
  • Sociocultural and Tourist Animation
  • Safety and Environment

The training of future professionals in the field of environmental protection
is surely one of the most important educational tasks of today’s society.
Consequently, the involvement of teachers to ensure that students
develop all the necessary skills and abilities must be maximized.

that provide values and knowledge essential for students.
They should not be missing in the training that your students receive
once they have finished their apprenticeship.
