They are a valuable tool for primary school teachers. Personal experiences with animals empower students to successfully complete school tasks and educational projects in natural sciences.
They also provide them with knowledge to understand the environment in which they live. As a result, they give an empowerment to young people to learn to respect and improve the reality of the future.
Modalities of activities for primary education
The workshops are designed in such a way that they can be carried out from the initial cycle to the superior cycle. Although the animals that participate are the same, the educators’ explanations are adapted to the age of the students.
1. Activities with wild animals to do in class
2-hour workshop during which students will meet 15 protected wild animals of Catalonia.
1 hour activity with native wild animals. There are 9 species of animals participating: birds, mammals and reptiles.
The eagles
Specific workshop on eagles. It lasts 1 hour. Students will meet 8 animals, including 3 species of eagles.
Specific workshop about falcons. During the 1 hour activity the children will meet 8 animals, including 3 species of falcons.
Specific workshop of 1 hour. Students will learn about 7 species of nocturnal raptors of Catalonia and 2 possible prey of the owls.
Specific 1 hour workshop. Students will come into direct contact with 6 species of animals, among others with a fox.
2. Visiting the Zoo of the Pyrenees
The star activity of the Zoo of the Pyrenees. Recommended for all ages of students.
Guided tour for educational centers
The guided tour allows students to meet all the animals that live in the wildlife refuge. It lasts 1 hour.
The «Petting zoo» for schools is a fun and educational workshop for all ages. Students will meet 10 protected wild animals.
Follow my trail: traces workshop for primary school
The workshop «Follow my trail» for primary education is held at the zoo. Students will identify tracks and understand how the trophic network works.
3. Activities for primary education in youth camps
Sometimes it is difficult to combine classroom classes with complementary workshops. You can contract our activities during your stay at a youth camp.
